Mohawk Community Builders

For My final Assignment in Leif Peng's Design Illustration class, we had to come up with ideas to design a logo for the Mohawk college Community Builders and create a poster with the new logo in it.

thumbnails for Logo and Poster: Community Builders

Above are the thumbnail concepts i created in adobe photoshop using my Wacom Tablet.

But I only used one of my thumbnails for my poster for this assignment.

Final for community poster

I decided to go with an earth type theme. The poster to me gives me a sense that the Community Builders not only care for the community but for the environment aswell.

And my logo took alot of thought and I think it is thus far the best logo i have created if i do say so myself.(below)

NO MCFUTURE

NoMcFuture

So this illustration was based on a blog titled "GETTING MYSELF McFIRED" and in the blog, the author states that, Mcdonalds is not ready for the McFUTURE. As I read the word McFuture, one thought came to my mind.

 BACK TO THE FUTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Character reference

And Instantly after that, I had my idea for an Illustration.

So I had composed my thumbnails and I was pretty much ready to start on my final.

Delorean reference

I had used this image of the Delorean and the Back to the Future poster as references for my character and the car I had Illustrated.

shoes reference

For the clown feet I used this image and I twisted and turned it to get the right perspective.

And below are my Three mini McDonalds Illustrations

If "Sweater"

If "Sweater"

I thought for Illustration Friday's word "Sweater", to go at it with a humorous approach, basically putting it out there why does the human torch need a sweater in the winter.

I used an image as the base idea for the "wtf" on the snow:

Reference: WTF (for sweater)

This is an illustration done by Minga check her other illustrations on WTF.

I used a reference image for the body shape:

And here is an image of the character in my illustration, The Human Torch:

Illustration Friday: IF "Reverse"

Reverse

When I had heard about Illustration Friday's word that had been chosen i though of course bizzaro because he is superman but reversed. But as i was making the illustration I thought, wouldn't it be cool if bizzaro fought against lex luthor. Prior to doing this assignment, I had watched Justice Leaugue: Crisis On Two Earths, an animated film, and in this movie there are two earths that you see, Universe A with superman as leader of the justice league and Universe B Lex Luthor is the leader. So after I watched it i decided to have the reversed versions of superman and lex luthor have a fight in an alternate reality.

Here are the images I used for reference and the image I used for the background:

If "Surrender"

my Illustration for the word surrender for the group illustration friday. I guess superman isn't so super after all. I came up with this piece because I love superheroes and I love the twists that happen when superheroes are in danger instead of normal people.

International Women's Day Poster

My poster for international women's day. I have chosen Olivia Newton John. I used to watch the movie “Grease” all the time when I was much younger and it was one of the best musical films I had ever seen.
